Celebrating the 130th anniversary of the unification of Bulgaria, AGBU Plovdiv and YP Plovdiv help mark the historical event.
On 6th of September, the city Plovdiv has become the center of the celebrations of the 130th anniversary of the official unification of Bulgaria, after the consolidation of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia.
At the “unification” square at the city’s center just in front of monument of this great historical date for the Bulgarian state, gathered the current President Mr. Rosen Plevneliev and the two former presidents Mr. Georgi Parvanov and Mr. Petar Stoyianov.
The Prime Minister of the country, Mr. Boyko Borisov, the mayor of Plovdiv and many other influential political and public figures also honored the memory of our ancestors who united Bulgaria 130 years ago.
The marking of the historical events of 1885 were honored by representatives of the Armenian General Benevolent Union-Plovdiv and YP – Plovdiv, organized by the co-chairs of YP-Plovdiv, Ms. Nora Radoslavova and Mr. Haik Garabedian who is also a board member of AGBU Europe.
Ms. Radoslavova and Mr. Garabedian presented a nice wreath of flowers as a token of appreciation of this prominent moment in the Bulgarian history.
The whole event was broadcast live on the Bulgarian National Television.
