Early in the Soviet years, AGBU established a physical footprint with its first office building in the capital city of Yerevan. After independence, we quickly set up our representation office located appropriately on Alex Manoogian Street. Eventually, we moved into our own six-storey building in the heart of the city which serves as our in-country headquarters. Our presence is augmented with our Vahe Karapetian Center in the Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative District.
Our AGBU-Armenia building on Melik-Adamyan Street off Republic Square seamlessly blends new, contemporary and environmentally-friendly features with the historic styling of the Old Yerevan facade, which dates back to 1906 during the Tsarist period. The original building (which was in a different location) housed the first Yerevan Parliament Hall. The facade was preserved and augmented with a brand new interior space with state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern staff workspaces and executive offices also houses a multifunctional events hall (capacity 200), a spacious courtyard, and the Point of View roof-top restaurant offering 270-degree views of the city.
We invite you to join us at any one of our AGBU Armenia events or to enjoy a varied menu at our rooftop restaurant. To rent our events hall or courtyard, please contact us at armenia@agbu.org. Check our schedule of events here.
Our AGBU Vahe Karapetian Center is a complex with three buildings comprising the Center of Coordination of Syrian Armenian Relief, our own Claudia Nazarian Medical Center and a dormitory-style space for AGBU youth programs, students and others visiting on a short term basis. Accommodating over 100 guests in semi-private bedrooms, the Center offers common spaces like a library, indoor game room, and TV room. The modern accommodations and convenient location are ideal for group stays.
Each summer, our Vahe Karapetian Center is bustling with activity from youth from abroad on AGBU cultural discovery tours, volunteer groups looking to serve in the homeland to university students who benefit from our support services. The facility may also be rented in the off season. For more information, email us at armenia@agbu.org.
