Learn To Earn Artsakh Program Mentor

Learn to Earn Artsakh

Opportunities to rebuild and thrive

Launched in 2019, AGBU Learn to Earn Artsakh Program was established as a professional development initiative aimed at fostering socio-economic empowerment and driving sustainable economic growth among the people of Artsakh. The program offered specialized training in entrepreneurship, tourism, leadership, personnel management, and English language proficiency, helping participants build essential skills for career advancement.

Following the large-scale military aggression by Azerbaijan in September 2023, which forced thousands of Artsakh residents to flee their homeland, many faced the immense challenge of securing shelter and rebuilding their lives from scratch. With immediate humanitarian needs now partly addressed, the focus has shifted toward long-term recovery, employment, and economic stability.

In response, the renewed Learn to Earn Artsakh Program is dedicated to supporting Artsakh refugees in integrating into Armenia’s labor market. Through personalized professional development guidance and targeted skills training, the program empowers participants to enhance their career prospects and become competitive in today’s dynamic job market.

The 2024 phase of humanitarian aid and inclusion of Nagorno-Karabakh refugees was implemented by AGBU LEAP in partnership with Shen NGO and Syunik Development NGO with funding from HEKS/EPER Swiss Church Aid.

  • As a beekeeper, I know how to live off the land. As a participant in AGBU LEAP, I learned how to take this knowledge and run a more efficient and successful business. After the course, I received a grant which helped me purchase a honey strainer, thirteen beehives and seven bee families, allowing me to scale up my operations. I am grateful to AGBU for this opportunity.
