The Armenian tradition of song has been part of our culture for centuries bringing a sense of pride and healing through the seamless blending of voices. AGBU Choral Ensembles bring Armenian folk, liturgical, operatic and contemporary music to life for audiences around the world.  Our choirs are led by renowned conductors and draw diverse crowds to prominent concert halls and events where they perform.

In recent years Armenian choirs have enjoyed a resurgence of interest bringing together community members of various ages through a common passion. Groups perform at important cultural events and have also found ways to layer their voices virtually, truly uniting communities together despite distance and language barriers.

Chamber Orchestras, brass and marching bands unite young musicians in various cities through love of instrumental composition and performance. The groups vary in style and skill but all aim to bring the sounds of Armenian and international music to audiences in both formal and fun settings. Our marching bands often liven up ceremonies and community festivals while our chamber orchestras have performed on famed stages throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Dating back to the Roman times, Armenian theater has been at the crux of cultural gatherings for centuries. Our AGBU troupes enlighten audiences with historical anthologies as well as contemporary storytelling. Whether it be drama or comedy, our actors, working with passionate directors, writers and creative directors, attract audiences of all ages. Many of our theater troupes perform in both Armenian and native languages to ensure both language preservation and audience reach.

The legacy of renowned thespian Krikor Satamian, the founder of many movements of Armenian theater, carries on within the AGBU troupes that perform in his name.

Through formal arts education, the Aram Khachaturian Music School and the Sarian Academy, both in Aleppo, Syria, cultivate young talents, who are poised to make significant contributions to Armenian classical music and fine arts.
